Lowe's & THD 's New Factory Audit Template

2017-03-14 11:52:46

Not long after Walmart releases their new factory audit terms, rumors indicate other World-class wholesalers would also ease their restrictions for factory auditing.

Recently, Lowe’s has sent a Email to all vendors to declare they have build a new audit template (RESA) which can also be recognized by THD(The Home Depot). This new audit template will come into use on the 1st of March 2017.

It benefits a great number of vendors, including those who are supplying for both Lowe’s and THD, and those who intend to do so. The release of RESA does not only reduce the time costs, but also lower the expenses for vendors.

The Email indicates:

Lowe's Vendor Code of Conduct is the establishment of the Lowe's Social Accountability and Environmental ("SAE") Program. As of now the SAE Program is executed by auditing Direct and Indirect Import Vendors' plants and industrial facilities delivering Lowe's Private Branded items sourced locally yet made outside of the U.S. also, Canada (Vendor is the importer of record).

In recent years, Lowe’s have joined forces with The Home Depot ("THD") and created one single review template named Retail Ethical Sourcing Assessment ("RESA"). The objective of building up the single review template is to abstain from forcing the additional cost of conducting different reviews on THD's and Lowe's sellers where similar industrial facilities are being utilized.

This new RESA review format will be viable for all SAE reviews led on or after March 1, 2017. At the time of review booking, please illuminate Lowe's designated 3rdparty specialist organization if a review led by THD utilizing the RESA format is on document. Provided that this is true, Lowe's will acquire a duplicate of the review report and all pertinent restorative activities related record from THD specifically and not direct any extra SAE reviews. Kindly note that as Lowe's vendors, you are obliged to conform to Lowe's Vendor Code of Conduct amid SAE reviews led by THD or Lowe's, including but not only: Section 7 – Acceptance of Gifts and Benefits, Section 14 – Anti-Corruption, and so on.

This new initiative will make good service in reducing SAE audit fatigue at those mutual industrial facilities.
